Lucy Winter – Vice Principal Deep Support

Lucy graduated from Durham University with a Chemistry degree and then completed a PGCE to become a science teacher. She worked in a number of Academies across Teesside before joining the Outwood family of schools in 2014 as a science director working in Academies such as Bydales, Ormesby, Ripon and Bishopsgarth. She then took the role of associate Vice Principal at Outwood Grange, Deep support and joined Outwood Academy Acklam in 2019 as Vice Principal.
Lucy works with a particular focus on removing any barriers a child might have in their education. This includes working with learning managers, the inclusion team (SEND), the behaviour team, external agencies such as councillors and EAL specialists, coordinating the bridge and PLC and alternative provision, LAC, safeguarding, use of catch up and PP funding, and leading on the high impact use of our reporting system, Praising stars. She believes passionately in the power of education to transform a child's life and will continue to work relentlessly to ensure every child makes the very best progress they can at Outwood Academy Acklam.
