A Vertical Mentor Group at Outwood Academy Acklam includes students from Year 7 through to Year 11. There is a 20 minute session every day.
All VMGs are led by a Vertical Mentor and follow a programme every week. The aim is not only to develop literacy and numeracy skills but to work together with a feeling of community through activities such as raising money for charity, VMG competitions and debating current affairs.
This week (30th April 2018) students at Outwood Academy Acklam are taking part in the Tolerance and Acceptance week. Each day during the week we will focus on different minority groups and the week will end with a mini-Mela on the Friday.

Well done to all our students and staff who raised a huge £108.75 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. Outwood Acklam students all wore their poppy with pride and showing an understanding of the sacrifice millions have made for us.
